A new experience. :)

This Bengali-Telugu inter-caste marriage that I attended?
turned out to be a whole new experience.
The difference between those two religions and their uniqueness at the same time came crashing down on me when i was passing around those "Akshintalu" [yellow rice we use to Give blessings? Yeahh! THAT one.]
and then this Bengali Lady who took a few while i was passing it around nearly ATE them thinking that was some special kind of rice. I had to stand and explain them that this is used for giving blessings.
Its not elders always who teach stuff. :P
Then people who have known me since childhood actually realised that i had grown from a kid to a girl. :)
The rituals, the dances, the horn-blowing which is so famous in their culture. Everything. was new to me.
New people. New friends.
Thanks for a Thankful Thanksgiving.

The day India prayed for Mumbai,
The day I prayed for those poor souls who left this world,
The day a Nation was glued to the Television sets,
in the hope to find their loved ones who were out for dinner there,
The day the journalists of the country got together. For the country.
To give the "news" as they call it.
I still feel jitters thinking of the day,
It was all over me,
For my people stayed there.
For my people fought there.
I remember the hours passed by, with no sleep, no peace,
Just the need to see our wish.
I got questions in my mind.
Many of them.
Voiced them, but then In the old India, until we grow around 80, no one hears us.
A new Nation awoke after the blasts,
a more careful, a more learnt India.
But, this was not the price to be paid,
poor innocent lifes.
The great soldiers of my country,
I salute to you.
But, let their lives not go in vain.
India. Wake up.
I say this not to keep up with the monotonous saying,
but to really put across a point to the world.
India. HAS woken up.

One year on, We still remember.

One for the soul-lers.

To have a soul sister is what I needed,
someone to share with,
to spend my happy, ugly, sad moments,
to go berserk but then not get scared as to if she feels bad.
to be able to go on for a long silent walk,
even if they wasn't a word spoken there,
at the end there wouldn't be a "it was so boring" line.
to be able to "understand".
To be able to call at any time of the day or night
to just say, a hi. and not feel guilty to have taken their peace away.
to scream and shout and whisper at the same time
and the person would still hear.
to pull me from the lows of the world,
to the highest horizons of happiness,
whether it be just by a word or just by a thought.
to not care whether i'm in the ugliest of moods
or the happiest of times,
she knows i still need a hug.
and a "shut up".
to be able to talk in the same frequency
even if the universe is in a different one.
to be able to just hold hands and show their support,
just by a word, just by a thought.
to show those lil signs of true care,
nowhere related to those walls that i face nowadays.
to make me go through the tough times with a smile on her face.
to act mad, crazy, and weird. period.
but then, have those really "up the world" talks
and still feel she is the girl!
whether it may be of the books, worldly talks, or the movies.
or plain random "everything under the sun" talks.
to giggle madly but still have the poise and charm of a girl.
to be the lady that you are
is a task.
but you still maintain it with dignity.
Just to be with time and just to be ourselves.
is what we expect the most of each other.
And those teeny drops of care.
thou art the sistah.
or the partner in my journey.
Hail friendship.

For all those things "unique" and all those things common.

This one is mainly for the "After summer" moments if you know what I mean.
But an Ode however.
